I’m Shankar Subba, an SEO Expert & Consultant based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
I’m Shankar Subba, an SEO expert and consultant based in Nepal. I help businesses grow through organic search, not with guesswork or generic checklists, but with a data-driven strategy tied directly to the pipeline and revenue.
I currently serve as Head of SEO at WP Creative, a web performance agency based in Australia that works with clients across Australia, the US, and New Zealand. Alongside my agency role, I also provide independent SEO consulting and advanced SEO training here in Nepal.
What I've delivered
I’ve provided SEO services for clients ranging from eCommerce and local businesses to mental health counselling, spanning markets from Australia to Canada and Singapore.
At WP Creative, I’ve built over $300,000 in SEO pipeline and more than $80,000 in AI SEO pipeline in 2025 alone. Additionally, I’ve helped generate seven-figure online sales for eCommerce stores.
Closer to home, I’ve helped businesses across Nepal improve their search visibility, from local service providers to e-commerce brands. Whether the market is Kathmandu or Sydney, the approach stays the same: diagnose before you optimise, measure everything, and tie every recommendation back to business outcomes.
My Background
Before moving into SEO, I spent a couple of years in software development. That technical foundation gives me an edge when it comes to understanding how websites are built, how search engines crawl and index content, and where technical issues are silently killing rankings.
Today, I split my time between consulting with businesses and individuals in Nepal who want to grow through organic search and leading SEO strategy for WP Creative’s international clients.
How I work
I follow the SEO Framework: Stabilise, Diagnose, Optimise, Scale. Every engagement starts with understanding what’s broken or missing before jumping to tactics. That means auditing your site’s technical health, analysing your search landscape, and identifying the highest leverage opportunities first.
I provide holistic SEO services that include on-page SEO, technical SEO, link building, content strategy, and local SEO.
I was one of the first in Nepal to speak on and implement semantic SEO, an approach that focuses on meaning, context, and topic authority rather than just keywords. I also work with teams on AI search optimisation, helping businesses appear in AI-generated results from tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews.
Speaking and community
I’m an active part of Nepal’s SEO and WordPress community. I was a speaker at WordCamp Nepal 2025, where I conducted an SEO workshop. Additionally, I was one of the organisers for WordCamp Nepal 2026.
Beyond WordCamp, I’ve presented and spoken at several SEO meetups and seminars across Nepal, covering topics from semantic SEO to practical search strategies for businesses.
